48 Hours of Media Consumption

This week we were asked to monitor our media consumption over 48 hours. Here is my log of all the media I encountered:

Sunday
12:00 Used applications on my I-pod such as: Twitter, Facebook, Mail Online
1:00 Went shopping: posters, leaflets, shop-windows
3:00 Watched Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix:
Billboards around the circuit, advertising on racers jumpsuits and cars, adverts mainly featuring sponsors of the sport and the F1 teams: Vodafone, Johnnie Walker, Hugo Boss, Federal Express, Virgin, Red Bull, Pirelli Tyres etc. Mainly focuses on international companies because the race is aired worldwide.
5:15 Watched Tennis ATP World Tour Final:
Sports endorsements for players on clothes, equipment etc.
Ground advertisements: Barclays, Rolex etc. (surrounding tennis court)
7:30 Watched Strictly Come Dancing
8:00 Watched X Factor – adverts and sponsors (Talk Talk)

Monday
8:00 Listened to music on I-pod
8:30 Listened to BBC Radio 4 on the journey to school (the joy of letting your dad pick!)
8:30 Adverts on buses (local shops and transportation adverts) and Lorries for specific companies (Walkers Crisps, Cravendale Milk)
11:00 Used internet search engines and school email
3:10 Listened to Radio on the journey home: Capital FM, Radio 1 and local station
3:30 Used phone to text
4:30 Checked social networking sites: Facebook and Twitter
5:00 Read the local newspaper, Shropshire Star (adverts in the newspaper)
6:00 Watched a DVD: trailers before the film of other films by the same production company
8:30 Watched I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here – adverts and sponsor (Iceland)
